How to use Alexa voice control on Fire TV Stick to search for shows, control playback, launch apps, and more

If you have a Fire TV Stick and an Alexa-enabled device, you can use voice control to search for shows, control playback, launch apps, and more on your TV. Here's how to set up and use Alexa voice control on Fire TV Stick.

Step 1: Connect your Fire TV Stick and Alexa device to the same Wi-Fi network. You can check the network settings on your Fire TV Stick by going to Settings > Network. On your Alexa device, you can check the network settings in the Alexa app by going to Devices > Echo & Alexa > [your device] > Wi-Fi Network.

Step 2: Pair your Fire TV Stick and Alexa device in the Alexa app. Open the Alexa app on your phone or tablet and tap on More > Settings > TV & Video > Fire TV. Tap on Link Your Alexa Device and follow the instructions to select your Fire TV Stick and Alexa device.

Step 3: Start using voice control on your Fire TV Stick. You can use voice commands to do things like:

- Search for shows or movies by genre, actor, director, or title. For example, you can say "Alexa, find comedies on Fire TV" or "Alexa, show me Tom Hanks movies on Fire TV".

- Control playback by saying "Alexa, pause", "Alexa, resume", "Alexa, rewind 10 seconds", "Alexa, skip ahead 5 minutes", or "Alexa, next episode".

- Launch apps by saying "Alexa, open Netflix on Fire TV" or "Alexa, go to YouTube on Fire TV".

- Control settings by saying "Alexa, turn on subtitles on Fire TV" or "Alexa, change the volume on Fire TV".

You can also use voice control to access other features of your Fire TV Stick, such as live TV channels, sports scores, weather updates, and more. To see a list of voice commands you can use, say "Alexa, what can I say?" or visit https://www.amazon.com/alexavoiceonfiretv.
